Framefall Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 13, 2026 · App: Framefall: Video Home Launcher (package com.vidtools.framefall) · Developer: CAPSLOCK LTD
1. What Framefall does
Framefall saves videos from links you are allowed to download (direct video files, your own cloud files, Internet Archive, NASA and Wikimedia Commons pages) and from a built-in list of open movies, plays them, lets you trim them, save the sound, make GIFs, split them into parts, save a frame or make a smaller copy, and can work as your Home screen (launcher) with a moving background.
Framefall does not support services whose terms forbid downloads, such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X or Vimeo.
2. Information we do not collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number.
- No contacts, location permission, microphone or camera data.
- We do not upload your videos, photos, links or library anywhere.
3. Information processed only on your device
- Your videos and library. Saved videos are stored in Movies/Framefall, extracted sound in Music/Framefall, frames and GIFs in Pictures/Framefall on your phone. The list of your videos, where you stopped watching, thumbnails and settings are stored in the app’s private storage.
- Clipboard. When you return to the Framefall Home screen, the app checks whether you have copied a link to a video, so it can offer to save it. The Paste button reads the clipboard only when you tap it. The clipboard text is not stored (except links you choose to save) and is not sent anywhere.
- App list (Home screen mode). To show your apps, the Framefall launcher reads the list of installed apps and their icons on your device. This list is not sent anywhere.
- Studio. Trimming, compressing, GIFs and frames are made on your phone. Files are not uploaded.
4. Network connections
- Links you paste. To check a link and save the file, Framefall connects to the website in that link, and Android’s download manager downloads the file. That website receives your IP address and a standard request, as with any download.
- Open film archives. To show the files of an Internet Archive or NASA page and to download films from Discover, Framefall connects to archive.org, images-api.nasa.gov and images-assets.nasa.gov.
- Our app service. Framefall connects to our service to receive app settings and content and to measure how the app is used. It sends a random app instance ID created on install, the install source reported by Google Play (for example, which campaign brought the install), the app version, the time and basic app events (such as app opened, screen viewed, notification opened), and a notification token if notifications are on. It does not send your videos, links, clipboard or app list. This data is used to run the app, to understand which features and campaigns work, and to send notifications.
- Google Firebase. Framefall uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Firebase uses a Firebase installation ID and a messaging token. See Firebase privacy and security.
- TikTok Business SDK. To measure our advertising campaigns on TikTok, Framefall may use the TikTok Business SDK, which receives app events (such as app install and app open), your device’s advertising ID, IP address and basic device information. See TikTok’s Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Framefall is free and shows ads inside the app, for example a full-screen ad when you open the app or move between its screens, and occasionally after you save videos.
- What AdMob uses. To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device’s advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), device and app information (such as model, OS version and language), and how you interact with ads (views and taps). Google processes this data under its own policies.
- Personalized ads. Ads may be personalized based on your advertising ID. To opt out, open Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) and choose “Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization”. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant.
- Learn more. How Google uses information from apps that use its services and How Google uses advertising data.
We, CAPSLOCK LTD, do not receive your advertising ID from AdMob; we only see aggregated ad reports.
6. Notifications
With your permission, Framefall can send notifications, for example reminders to come back to your videos. You can turn them off at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Framefall → Notifications.
7. Home screen (launcher) role
Framefall can be set as your Home screen. You choose this in an Android system dialog, and you can turn it off at any time in Framefall → Settings → “Use as Home screen”, or in Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → Home app.
To uninstall Framefall, use Android Settings → Apps → Framefall → Uninstall. Depending on the version of the app, you can also long-press an app icon on the Framefall Home screen and choose Uninstall.
8. System permissions
- Notifications — only if you allow them (see section 6).
- Request delete packages — only to open Android’s own uninstall dialog when you choose Uninstall on the Framefall Home screen. Android always asks you to confirm.
- Advertising ID — lets Google AdMob and TikTok read the device’s advertising ID (see sections 4 and 5).
- Internet, network state, vibration — to save videos, connect to the services above, check connectivity and give tap feedback.
9. Children
Framefall is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads in Framefall are not designed for children.
10. Data retention and deletion
Your videos and library stay on your device and you control them: delete videos in the app or in your Gallery, or uninstall Framefall to remove its private storage. App instance IDs and app events on our service are kept only as long as needed to run the app and understand how it is used; to ask us to delete data linked to your app instance, write to the address below. Data handled by Google and TikTok follows their policies; you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings at any time.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s store listing.
